A single project and concert in Huntly, Scotland

“Culture is at the heart of education” and “participation in cultural activities can improve the quality of life of individuals ….raise self-esteem and confidence and widen horizons.”

(Scotland’s National Cultural Strategy p7)

This September, the Deveron Festival moves to Huntly to build on the successful Creative Composition project run earlier this year in Banff. The composer, Steve King will work alongside members of the Deveron Festival Orchestra and Instrumental Instructors and teachers from Aberdeenshire Council with children from The Gordon Schools and Gordon Primary to create their own compositions inspired by sounds heard in and on water.

These new compositions will be heard alongside King's own concerto at a concert in The Gordon Schools Hall on Saturday, 18th September at 7.30pm.
